I was fiddling with this since I was 14 to create a video game I dubbed 'Astral Fighters.' It's going to have my anime character Duke in it as well as Andy, a bounty hunter (anime version of a friend) and Sally the zombie girl (also anime version of my ex-gf).

Problem is out here in Iraq it's hard to get the time to do it, but if you have a team of people and some freetime and talent, check out the Toolkit at www.toolkitzone.com

I was thinking also about creating a fighting game similar to Marvel Vs. Capcom with anime versions of the Ki Sanctuary members just for fun, and have the same battle system (2 person teams vs. each other, a superbar that has 4 gauges for your supermoves, etc)

I think if we got into GameDev that'd really pull in a lot of traffic as well.

pulling off the coding for that kind of game may be relitivly easy, but the sheer time consuming nature of a sprite(2d images for characters) based game would be crazy, each frame of each technique would have to be drawn by hand!!! unless it has some kind of blend system like Flash and fills in the frames between kinda like a photo morph.

Dude, trust me, I know what you're talking about. I drew entire sheets for walking, punching, knee strikes, dying, getting hurt...It sucked. I'm looking for a spritist that I can just hire to do the stuff for the game because while I'm pretty good at sprites, dude, this shit is a pain in the fucking ass.

If I could rally a team together and maybe save some money and pay some folks to help me I could piece a team together, one do sprites, one do tiles for environments, one do enemy sprites, one do coding, and one do the sound effects while the last one does the music.

If you need an artist and help with sprite animations, count me in :)
