A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it all away -Barry Goldwater

We increasingly notice the Government getting bigger and bigger the further we go. All these new Departments and laws coming up. People think its the right thing to do. But it is not. The Founding Fathers warned us against Big Government. In the Constitution you are not allowed to pass a law or abridge any right that is not directly stated in the Constitution. The 10th Amendment reads that any right that is not explicitly stated in the Constitution is returned to the States or the people. We must also remember the "necessary and proper" clause. The Government is meant to protect us and our liberties. Not the other way around. The only time the Government must intervene is to protect the people's rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Best Government is one that Governs least- Thomas Jefferson

First of all Big Government is Big Taxes. Big Government costs a LOT. I mean I don't know how much the Department of Education costs but from the money you need to build & maintain Public Schools all over the Nation, the free lunch, the staff, AND the teacher's wages, I think it is common sense it puts heavy burden on our tax payers. Imagine how much a Universal Health-care would tax us? We must always pay for the services the Government must provide for.

We are a Nation with a Government. Not the other way around -Ronald Reagan

Anything that increases the regulation and puts on more laws is increasing the Government. With a lot of big businesses spending millions lobbying the Government, this could bias itself upon one type of business, making smaller businesses harder to keep up with. Such as the Pharmaceutical Industry that controls the medicine. If we had allowed other modalities alternatives to be used as options for patients, we could all the businesses competing. It makes it difficult for smaller business' such as herbal or energetic medicine to make money and compete.

Most bad government has grown out of too much government -Thomas Jefferson

With Big Government restricting your business where only the big companies profit, the overall National Wealth gets smaller. When you are free to do any kind of business, you make money that is then taxed from the taxes on the goods you buy, therefore increasing the National Wealth. Some people cannot even afford what big companies have, whether its optional or their only option because of the Government regulations. While if there was a smaller business charging you less or having something you want more, you can spend your limited amount of money on it, getting both what you want and adding what you paid to the National Treasury. Other people with smaller businesses cannot make their own share of money either.

Power Corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely -Lord Acton

Government is essentially immoral -Herbert Spencer

Big Government is also morally wrong. The CIA, the FBI, the Patriot Act and others can be easily manipulated and controlled for the wrong purposes. It is easier to do so on a Federal level than a State level. It corrupts a country. The CIA can lie to get us into war. It did with Iraq. It has received numerous criticism for its mischiefs. It is easier to corrupt a country on a Federal Level than on the local and to take a bit from people's money. When a local Government is corrupt, its a little problem. When the Federal Government is corrupt, its a big problem. There is Internet and phone tapping. We now have "Free-Speech" zones and we cannot speak out against the President. We have also lost Habeus Corpus and there is neither an invasion nor rebellion. That does not make us more secure. We now have to deal with the possible tyranny of our Government as well as outside terrorism. A traitor is everyone who does not agree with me. -King George III, the tyrant .Those who give up essential liberties for a little temporary security, deserve neither liberty nor security. -Benjamin Franklin

People should not be afraid of their Governments. Governments should be afraid of the people -V for Vendetta

I agree there is a time we need Government and Government regulations. And that is to prevent fraud and protect the people. I mean if there was no Government regulations then what would stop big companies from just buying the people? Or from not paying its people enough? No there are laws and regulations on that. Most people do not realize that the Presidential Debate Committee is a private organization run by the former chairman of the Democratic Party and former chairman of the Republican Party. There is no regulations on that. Therefore they make the rules. I, personally, endorse regulations on that. I think we should allow Third Party candidates and Independent candidates who have a chance of obtaining enough Electoral Votes to become the President. See my Election Fraud Article and my Changing Presidential Elections Article.

Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem -Ronald Reagan

Big Government decreases efficiency. When the State or the City has to comply with the Nation's Government, the needs for the specific individuals and towns and cities, are less addressed. For example if the Government takes over medicine and passes a law for a certain virus. While a city of that country suffers from a different kind of a disease. And that city is banned from researching the cure for that disease or using it, then the people suffer and the nation doesn't get the potential money it could from that city. Ever since the Department of Education has been created we have witnessed a decrease in the student's IQ and a decrease in their test scores. Read my article on Federal Education.

When the people are afraid of their Government, there is tyranny. When the Government is afraid of the people, there is liberty -Thomas Jefferson

Another big scam would be the War on Drugs. Its been decades and we are still no where near of winning the "war" on drugs. It costs a lot of money, it doesn't work, and it is immoral. You are basically saying you cannot do what you want to do. You should be free to do what you want as long as you don't hurt others. Even if it harms you. For the Government cannot make you a better person. Only you can. The whole punishment if you do something doesn't work. Religion has been trying to do it for years. They scare the people with their promises of punishment after you die unless you comply. And yet studies show that Religious people most often commit crimes go to jail. It just doesn't work. With drugs, once you realize, through experience, that drugs are detrimental to your health, you will start trying to stop it. And with that you will eventually succeed on stopping your addiction on substance. The War on Drugs does not keep out drug dealers. It keeps them in. For now drugs are hard to get so people go to drug dealers. Drug dealers set high prices and make a lot of money on it. Selling drugs being illegal does not stop those people for they are the law breakers. It actually keeps them on the streets. Watch, as soon as you legalize drugs, all the drug dealers will be gone. For now you can get the drug anywhere and at a cheaper price. The War on Drugs did not stop people from doing drugs. It just put a lot of desperate and innocent people in jail. Same people who could be of good use working outside of jail in real life.

There is no left or right. There is only up or down -Ronald Reagan

Big Government has proven over time to be ineffective, immoral, and expensive. Much of Big Government today is Unconstitutional. In order to be effective, free, and keep more of our money, we need to have a Government as little as possible. If you want to increase it, you can add an Amendment. But history proves, best Government is Government that governs least.

Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one
-Thomas Paine

I enjoy that you quote Reagan. He was the first presidential candidate to truly master the art of telling people what they want to hear.

When I die I hope I get to watch Reagan and Hitler have political debates like they were running for office.

Best-spoken politicians ever.
