Yeah I been fuckin' up, maintaining what I have but also trying to enjoy my vacation. It was a little 'hoe workout.' Going to a party tonight and I'll hit the weights hard again Monday.

Alright, I know I haven't been posting my workouts. But that's because I've hit a major plateau, so you'd just be seeing the same results for every post. I'm just now beginning to burst out of this chest plateau.

For some reason whenever I plateau on my chest, my biceps and abs sky rocket. I am just now breaking out of that 6 rep barrier and on Monday or Wednesday I should be able to finally do 255 lbs. for 7 reps. I'm trying very hard to gain a perfect balance of explosive strength and endurance.

What people criticise me on, is that my reps are TOO SLOW. They say that I waste too much energy on doing the form right. My form is perfect, and they are all saying I need to focus on lifting the weight faster instead of more perfectly. I could have had that seventh rep had I focused more on just exploding upwards rather than slowly coming down and back up.

So next time, I'll try bursting upwards, not sloppily, but also not losing my form, since that seems to be what people are calling me out on as far as critique on my strength training methods. Otherwise people generally agree with my methods and see I've been getting great results so far.

Supplements I take? Well right now it's just two:

-NaNo Vapour by Team MuscleTech, 6 pills per serving 30 minutes before workouts only on workout days
-MuscleTech Anabolic HALO, 3 scoops immediately after workout, or 3 scoops when you first wake up in the morning on non-workout days. I don't take this religiously. Strangely, it makes your breath smell good because it has mint in it I think.

Have a PT test in 5 hours, 1 am here, have to be down by 6 am. I KNOW, I procrastinate! But I had to discuss plans for the webcomic with Lewin, had to get some stuff off my chest with my buddies that was lingering in my mind.

Met up with First Sergeant at the gym. He did three sets of a 315 pound barbell benchpress, no safety clamps on either side, for 5 reps.

"Damn, First Sergeant, that is amazing. You make me look like a fool!"

"Pfft, aw Private Mills, you still young! You got it good, wish I started at yo age boy!"

"That's incredible, how did you get so powerful?"

"Time," he replied simply. "Just takes time. You already big for your age, I wasn't that big at your age. Just keep going like you're going, I've seen you workout around here, you're doing good, keep it up."

"Yeah, but I'm gonna fail the run tomorrow on the PT test."

"Well watch your breathing and pace yourself, even if you know you're gonna fail just get a good workout and make sure you finish it."

His words motivated and encouraged me to keep up my training. Once I finally reach my goals in strength I plan to maintain my current strength level and then focus more on cardiovascular training, which has always been my weakness.

I currently weigh 112 kgs., I have a photo here, it's not all lean but it's certainly not all fat:

Well folks, today our unit took a diagnostic PT test. It doesn't go against your record, but if you pass, they will not make you take another one for another 6 months. Here's my results:

64 pushups in 2 minutes
61 situps in 2 minutes
2 mile run 16 min. 48 sec.

Passed pushups, passed situps, failed the run by 12 seconds. TWELVE SECONDS. If I would have just sprinted that last few hundred yards, I'd have had that. Needless to say I surprised myself, I actually expected to come in at a lousy 17 to 18 minutes. Being in the humid weather of Korea really has improved my fitness greatly as compared to the lousy fitness training we had in Alaska.

Figured I'd update this thing, I haven't been slacking off..trust me.

Flat Benchpress

250x9 1/2
275x5
275x4
225x12

Barbell Bicep Curl
60 lbs x 13

Elliptical Machine

2.25 miles in 16:36

Comments:

I'm gettin' pretty epic on everything. I've never been able to do 275 for 5 reps before, I could have pushed for 6 but I had no spotter so I didn't want to chance it.
